Geneva Health is proud to have been selected as a recruitment partner with the Department of Corrections to assist in the recruitment of Registered Nurses in both a permanent, contract and temporary capacity.

The Department of Corrections provides health care to all prisoners within 20 prisons through out New Zealand, including assessing health needs for each prisoner on arrival, managing health issues, treatment of conditions, education, health promotion, emergency response and liaison with and referral to other health professionals or services.

Nurses will be assessing and treating prisoners with such diagnoses as mental health disorders, drug and alcohol issues, acute and/or chronic health issues in addition to accidents and emergencies.

Some of these Health Centres are nurse led meaning you will gain experience of working in an autonomous role and expanding your management skills.  Whilst mostly working within the Health Centre you will also attend prison units to provide treatment and administer medication.
